I guess Mac is similar to Linux or cell phones systems. Not so much people use them, so hackers do not care. Sth similar happened with Firefox. At the beggining was a totally safe explorer... but nobody was using it. As long people started to install it, hackers discovered bugs in the code. Any OS which is massively used, will become vulnerable. (well, except Windows, which may be vulnerable even with just twenty users :P ).
More about mac in: http://cocosworld.wordpress.com/2006/05/10/there-is-no-god-but-mac-and-ipod-is-his-messenger-no-hay-mas-dios-que-mac-y-el-ipod-es-su-profeta/

the analyst in question needs to get a better grip on the fundamentals - namely shannon's maxim "the enemy knows the system" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shannon's_Maxim)... keeping vulnerabilities obscure doesn't increase anyone's security...

while the "i wanna be first" motivation may now be gone, the supposed safety that mac users were feeling was clearly a false sense of security...

the os' charmed security life isn't over, it never existed... what the recent security problems should point to, however, is the loss of mac os x user's innocence...
