80pc give personal details to bogus street researchers

Four out of five people stopped in the street by a stranger posing as a market researcher gave away confidential information in return for the chance to win a handful of Easter eggs.

The researchers, who carried out the exercise to raise awareness of the dangers of identity theft, said they were horrified by how much personal data people were willing to reveal.
